What is a Soundbar and why would I want one?

If you have recently invested in a large flat screen TV Installation or watched one without a soundbar or surround sound system it was probably a disappointing experience. The best way we can explain this is if you have ever tried to watch a youtube video with poor signal quality. When you lose the video portion momentarily, it is not as bad as when you lose the audio. Having clear immersive audio is important while viewing any content.

Large flat screen TV's are amazing with today's technology but because they are designed to be ultra thin and mount flat against the wall, it is impossible to have a decent speaker built in. Speakers move in and out producing SPL (sound pressure level) and of course a range of frequencies (high to low) that can dramatically change the vibe' of the content we watch. Unfortunately the minimal depth of new televisions are not speaker friendly and that's why all TV manufacturers offer an optional soundbar. You can certainly purchase one of their soundbar solutions but your going to be a lot happier with a soundbar made by an actual speaker company.
